What I Did With What I Thrifted: Mid-Century Modern Shiny Brites

Woo - three down, only like 48 more to go! I love these vintage Shiny Brites for their mid-century modern appeal. I knew I wanted to group them together, but I didn't want to incorporate any other decorations because I wanted these guys to shine all on their own.

So I started with one of the vases I brought home from What I Thrifted last weekend.

I loved the tallest one for it's shape. I thought about filling it with a mix of vintage christmas balls, but I wanted to create something with a little more oomph. So I flipped it upside down and attached a vintage hook to the top of the inside of the vase. Now my mid-century Shiny Brites can shine away!

I added a knob to the top of the vase to make the whole display look a little more intentional (it also makes it easier to pick it up!).

Set this guy on a mantle with some Christmas greens, or on a coffee table all by himself - he'll look great either way. Christmas decorations are so versatile they appeal to every style of home decor. The vintage-modern (really?) look of these ornaments allow this guy to stand all on his own. A great way to showcase special decorations while creating a unique, one-of-a-kind Christmas display.

The Mid-Century Shiny Brite display is listed over in TLBT Littles - check back tomorrow for Day Four of A Week of Before & Afters!
