What I Did With What I Thrifted: Pumpkin Mammoth Re-do

Phew, it's been a day ya'll. We just got home from our engagement photo shoot and boy, it wiped me out. It's hard work standing around by barns and split-rail fences, trying to look in love when in reality you're worried about your hair, your lipstick and whether or not you're popping your leg the way the photographer asked. Add two chihuahuas into the mix (they were in the photos too!) and it's been quite the afternoon. So it's a late update, but an update nonetheless!

Speaking of barns and split-rail fences, let's talk about Pumpkin Mammoth. Or Mammoth Pumpkin. Love the vintage-style print. Love the warm fall colors. But the brassy gold frame doesn't work with the picture. The colors get lost, and the frame itself dates the picture and not in a good way. The minute I found this little guy, I knew exactly the look he needed.

Funny how a different finish can give a piece, whether it's furniture or a simple picture, a whole different feel entirely. The same frame in a heavily-distressed, rustic white finish is what was needed to bring Pumpkin Mammoth to life. Now the colors pop - you can actually see the print! The distressed finish appeals to the vintage elements of the picture. It's the perfect rustic Fall accent.

I love it placed on our entry table, next to my other rustic Fall decor piece.
