Soooooo... here's what happened. I had a hair appointment this morning at the new location of my regular salon. On my way to my appointment, I spotted a house with a barn and a bunch of stuff sitting in the yard. This makes my heart sing. Alas, it's early on Sunday morning, and there were no signs of life to indicate whether the Barn O' Stuff was open. Really, there were no signs indicating whether the Barn was ever open. I arrive at the new location of my salon only t
One of my favorite shirts; I'm sad I didn't get to wear it a couple more times before it got cold. The Calvin Klein safari shirt. Or is it a cargo shirt? The pockets don't seem baggy enough to make it a cargo shirt... Either way, I love it. Everything from the tailored cut of the shirt, to the soft cotton, to the army green color. Worn with my Guess? dark wash skinnies and either boots or flats, this outfit is so fun and flattering. And of course there's super cute butto
Having this week off for Thanksgiving allowed me to make up for lost time thrifting. I also got to visit stores I don't normally frequent because the hours they keep aren't condusive to my schedule. A thrift store located in the basement of church near my house is quickly becoming a favorite of mine. Unfortunately it's only open on Tuedays for 3 hours during the day. Note to self: schedule all doctors and vet appointments on Tuesdays from here on out... The church thrift
I've had a couple big meetings at the office for my 9-5 job that take place on the weekends. Last weekend was our annual board of directors meeting which makes for a lot of long days in preparation, ending with the day-long meeting itself. It's a fairly intense meeting with lots of discussion and comprehensive thinking. There are lots of key details that are critical to the success of the overall meeting, and I'm responsible for all of them. All of my attention is focused
More burnt orange! What can I say, I'm really digging this color. And I'm loving it even more when paired with a jewel-toned teal. A cute, comfortable, ready-to-wear Fall outfit. Perfect for weekends, it can be accessorized as much as needed. Teal tee under a burnt orange corduroy button down, paired with a bootcut dark denim. The teal complements the orange and vice versa. They make one another pop more than they would on their own. They're a lovely example of contras
Winter Blues Edition, immediately following the I Miss Summer Already TOT post. That was totally unintentional, but man, sometimes I'm so poetic it hurts. There's a whole lot of blue in this week's haul. Like this post title, it's entirely accidental but a nice theme nonetheless! And relatively timely since it was in the upper 30s this morning when I left the house for my 9 AM church flea market. Winter: It's Happening. On to the good stuff! Love, love, love these guys.
Initially, this thrifted outfit doesn't appear as visually appealing as some previous ones that have been featured. But the devil is in the details, I promise! While re-organizing my closet to prepare for the impending Winter I came across this outfit. I haven't worn it in months, but it's a Summer favorite of mine. Finding it in early November made me long for Summer. This outfit reminded me of getting goosebumps while letting the Summer sun warm me from the outside in;
This week's haul is small but mighty. I didn't spend a lot of time out and about this weekend because I wanted to tackle some of my smaller projects. As it is, we're up to our ears in projects and we just inadvertently took on two more. And for serious, I'm putting an official ban on vintage Christmas decorations until I do something with the ones I already have. I can't resist them and it's becoming a problem! First up - Pumpkin Mammoth! Love the picture, hate the frame.
The perfect yard sale haul for a perfect Fall day! I couldn't be more excited about this weekend's finds so let's show 'em off! I've acquired quite the collection of empty frames. I can't helpt it. I love them. Check out this detail - would you have been able to pass it up? I've got big plans for my frames, I swear. And here's one more to add to the collection. More vintage Christmas balls! Sometimes when it rains it pours and that seems to be the case lately with my v
A day trip to West Virginia brought home an unexpected vintage haul that makes my heart sing. I adore this vintage chenille bedspread. While it's not in pristine condition (the stuff is vintage after all), I have some ideas on how to repurpose it. I'm a sucker for just about anything with a dog. The frame needs a little love, but how fun is this print?! I love the colors in this vintage table cloth. Again, not in pristine condition, but I have some ideas on how to give thi
